YOUR COLD SHOULDER

I awoke this morning
In need of a hug
The cosy kind we used to steal
Among the shadows beyond Mami
A lasting embrace
In a brief moment
As the barracks bustles
Unobtrusively

Can’t seem to let go
But your cold shoulder
Nudges me back to reality:
In your heart
I was never there
And probably, never will.
Then was my time,
Now I bow out
